On Thursday 4 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards the Governor-General, as Senior Patron of The Royal Humane Society of Australasia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an investiture ceremony for Constable Zachary Rolfe, 2018 recipient of the Clarke Gold Medal.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from St John the Apostle Primary School, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
