On Friday 29 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, received a briefing from Her Excellency the Honourable Patricia Forsythe AM, High Commissioner for Australia in New Zealand at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove visited the Al Noor Mosque to lay a floral tribute for victims of the Christchurch Mosque terror attacks.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a breakfast hosted by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand and His Excellency Sir David Gascoigne KNZM CBE at The George Hotel, Christchurch.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the ‘Ko Tātou, Tātou, We are one’ National Remembrance Service at Hagley Park, Christchurch.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a reception hosted by The Honourable Lianne Dalzi, Mayor of Christchurch, and Ngāi Tahu with survivors and families of the Christchurch terror attacks.
