Coober Pedy, SA; Woomera, SA

On Wednesday 6 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Karen Cornelius, Principal, met with staff and students at the Coober Pedy Area School.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Anthony Ryan, Regional Director of Nursing, and Mrs Julia Waddington-Powell, Acting Executive Officer, met with staff and patients at Coober Pedy Hospital.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Sonia Mazzone, Chief Executive Officer, met with members at the Umoona Aboriginal Aged Care Facility.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a community barbeque in the Coober Pedy Town Square.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Wayne Borrett, Representative, Coober Pedy Retail, Tourism and Business Association, visited the Coober Pedy Old Timer Mine.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, travelled to Woomera. As guests of Squadron Leader Darren Prior, Commanding Officer, 20 Squadron, Their Excellencies met with members of RAAF Woomera before returning to Canberra in the early evening.
