On Monday 3 December, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Senate Address-in-Reply, which was presented by the President of the Senate, Senator the Honourable Scott Ryan.

In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies hosted a reception for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, on the International Day of People With a Disability.

Afterwards, following the departure of the Governor-General from Australia to attend the State Funeral of Mr George HW Bush in the United States of America, the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.
