On Thursday 22 November 2018, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a ceremonial Welcome for His Excellency Ram Nath Kovid, President of the Republic of India, and the First Lady, Mrs Savita Kovind.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with His Excellency Ram Nath Kovid, and Mrs Savita Kovind, and received: Mr Anant Kumar Hegde, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Ms Vijay Thakur Singh, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs; His Excellency Dr Ajay Gondane, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Australia.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a state lunch in honour of His Excellency Ram Nath Kovid, and Mrs Savita Kovind. Guests included: Major General CP Cariappa SM VSM; Air Marshal Gavin Davies AO CSC; Dr Mike Freelander MP; Senator the Honourable Concetta Fierravanti-Wells; The Honourable Justice Stephen Gageler AC; Dr Heena Vijaykumar Gavit; His Excellency Dr Ajay Gondane; His Excellency Mr Abel Guterres; Mr Justin Hayhurst; Shri Anant Kumar Hedge; His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley; Shri Randhir Jaiswal; Ms Swati Kovind; Shri Bharat Lal; Mr Julian Leeser MP; Squadron Leader Ankur Pal; Senator the Honourable Marise Payne; Ms Harinder Sidhu; Mr Paul Singer MVO; Shri Nagesh Singh; Smt Vijay Thakur Singh; and Shri Kamakhya Prasad Tasa.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the National Mining and Related Industries Day, at Government House, Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Leon Kempler, Chairman, Questacon Advisory Council, attended Questacon’s 30th Anniversary Celebrations, at Questacon, Canberra.
