On Thursday 8 November 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, were officially farewelled by His Excellency Mr Arthur Spyrou, Australian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, and Mrs Britt Spyrou, at Dubai International Airport.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were officially welcome to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by His Excellency the Honourable George Brandis QC, High Commissioner, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, at Farnborough Airport.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, attended a dinner hosted by His Excellency the Honourable George Brandis QC, at Stoke Lodge, London.
