On Thursday 1 November 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Gedimianas Varvuoli as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania. The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Ms Rasa Varvuoliene.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea reception for Legacy Widows.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney,Their Excellencies hosted an afternoon tea for staff and volunteers of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018.

In the evening, at Qantas’ Headquarters, Mascot, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a farewell reception for the retiring Chairman, Mr Leigh Clifford AO, as guests of Mr Alan Joyce AC, CEO, Qantas Airways Limited.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Concordia College,SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
