Monday 29 October 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, visited Barker College for the official opening of the Preparatory School Facilities, as guests of Mr Phillip Heath AM, Principal, Barker College.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, attended a Thanksgiving and Military Funeral Service for the life of Major General Gordon Maitland AO BOE RFD ED (Retd), at The Parish Church of Saint James, Sydney.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies hosted a reception for 34 Squadron, at Government House.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Roxby Downs Area School, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
