On Thursday 14 June 2018, Gungahlin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of Ms Lorraine Litster, President, read the morning news to visually-impaired listeners in the Canberra, Wagga Wagga, and Junee area through the Radio 1RPH network.

In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a dinner in honour of Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin AC, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs AO CSC RAN, and Vice Admiral Tim Barrett AO CSC RAN, who all will retire from the Australian Defence Force in July.

Earlier, the Governor-General participated in a video call with students from St Benedict’s School, WA, as part of their civics and citizenship class. Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from St John Fisher Catholic Primary School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
