On Monday 21 May 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted morning tea at Government House, Canberra, for the launch of National Palliative Care Week.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as patron of Scouts Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, conducted an Investiture ceremony for the Chief Commissioner.

Earlier, the Governor-General participated in a video call with students from Pius X Catholic Primary School, WA, as part of their civics and citizenship class.

This morning, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Group Captain Simon Sauer ADC for the arrival in Australia of the President of Kiribati, His Excellency Taneti Maamau.
