On Friday 20 April 2018, at Longreach, Queensland, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of CEO, Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges, Mr Mark Tobin, visited the Longreach Pastoral College.

Afterwards, at Winton, Queensland, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mayor, Winton Shire Council, Councillor Gavin Baskett, officially opened the Waltzing Matilda Centre.

Then, at Winton Shire Hall, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Councillor Baskett, attended an official luncheon in recognition of the opening of the Waltzing Matilda Centre.
