On Thursday 19 April 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the morning, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chair, Australian Trucking Association, Mr Geoff Crouch, attended the opening breakfast for the Australian Trucking Association’s annual conference, Trucking Australia 2018.

In the afternoon, at Longreach Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed by the Mayor, Longreach Regional Council, Councillor Ed Warren.

Afterwards, at the Qantas Founders Museum, Longreach, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of CEO, Qantas Founders Museum, Mr Tony Martin, visited the museum.

In the evening, at the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Longreach, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mayor, Longreach Regional Council, Councillor Warren, attended a civic reception.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Our Lady of the Rosary, QLD as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
