On Sunday 25 February 2018, at Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, were farewelled from the United Arab Emirates by the Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Mr Arthur Spyrou and Mrs Britt Spyrou.

Afterwards, at Geneva Cointrin International Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, were welcomed to the Swiss Confederation by Ambassador Valentin Zellweger, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the United Nations in Geneva; the Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Ms Lynette Wood; and the Charge d’Affairs to the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Dr Lachlan Strahan.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received a briefing from Ms Wood and Dr Strahan.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General was represented by The Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC and Mr Anthony Howard QC at a reception for athletes and supporters of the Special Olympics Australia National Games.
