Baghdad, Iraq; Taji, Iraq

On Saturday 24 February 2018, at the Baghdad Diplomatic Security Centre, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, received a briefing and met with Australian Defence Force personnel.

Afterwards, at the Presidential Palace, Baghdad, the Governor-General met with the President of the Republic of Iraq, His Excellency President Fouad Massoum.

Later, at the Australian Embassy, the Governor-General, as guests of the Charge d’Affairs to the Republic of Iraq, Mr Tim Stapleton, attended a lunch for Australian Embassy and Defence Force personnel in Baghdad.

In the afternoon, at Taji Military Complex, the Governor-General received a briefing and met with Australian and Coalition military personnel deployed to the Taji Military Complex.
