On Friday 22 September 2017, at Arthur Cox Headquarters, Dublin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Irish-Australian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Peter Oakes, attended a breakfast meeting and addressed members of the Irish-Australian Chamber of Commerce.

Afterwards, at the Australian Embassy to the Republic of Ireland, Dublin, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, His Excellency Mr Richard Andrews, attended a morning tea with staff of the Australian Embassy in Ireland.

In the afternoon, at Áras an Uachtaráin, Dublin, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of Ireland, His Excellency Michael Higgins, and Mrs Sabina Higgins, attended a Ceremonial Welcome.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the President of Ireland and Mrs Higgins.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of Ireland and Mrs Higgins attended a State Lunch.

Then, at McKee Barracks, Dublin, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces, Vice Admiral Mark Mellett, attended an Afternoon Tea and met with veterans of the Irish Defence Forces who served in the International Force for East Timor.

In the evening, at the Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland’s Residence, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Andrews, attended a dinner.
