Government House Open Day

Government House Open Day in Canberra is on Saturday 5 April from 10am-2pm. 

Entry is free with parking available on Dunrossil Drive.

We welcome you to come and explore one of the country’s most historic properties, meet the Governor-General, and learn more about her role and its place in contemporary Australian society.   

There will be a scavenger hunt and numerous stalls on the grounds, making it a fun day out for the whole family. 

To help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Australian honours system, we will be joined by National institutions and organisations with displays, including:

• Australia Post
• National Library of Australia
• National Portrait Gallery 
• Questacon
• The Royal Australian Mint

Staff from the Australian Honours and Awards Secretariat, the Order of Australia Association and the Bravery Association of Australia will also be on hand to learn more.  

Please note pets (other than service animals) are not permitted.
