Notes: Any variants to Orders/Decorations/Medals listed above (e.g. levels, classes, degrees, stars, etcetera and including divisions) are deemed to be agreed.

As governments and countries change from time to time, some awards may no longer be bestowed by a given country. These awards do not represent a comprehensive list of awards, but only those bestowed on Australians over time. In some cases such awards may no longer be bestowed by the current government of any given country.

The Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation was awarded by the former Government of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) to specific military units that distinguished themselves in battle. The Governor-General has formally approved the awarding of the Citation to identified Australian military units in recognition of their service during the Vietnam war. Individuals who believe they could be eligible can submit an application to wear the Citation through the Australian Department of Defence.

The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal was awarded by the former Government of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) to recognise Australian personnel for service (subject to eligibility criteria) in the prescribed area of operations in Vietnam from
31 July 1962 - 28 March 1973.

Individuals who believe they could be eligible can submit an application to wear either the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal or Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation through the Australian Department of Defence.
