Afterwards, at the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland, the Honourable Justice David Thomas, officially opened the 2017 Royal Queensland Show.

On Friday 11 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Secretary, Department of Prime Minster and Cabinet, Dr Martin Parkinson AC PSM, and the Deputy Secretary Governance, Department of Prime Minster and Cabinet, Ms Elizabeth Kelly PSM.

Earlier, the Governor-General received a video call from St Thomas More’s Primary School, ACT; and Charles Campbell College, SA, as part of their civics and citizenship classes.

On Thursday 10 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Baynton West Primary School, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Wednesday 9 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Dalby South State School, QLD; Centaur Primary School, NSW; and Haberfield Public School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Tuesday 8 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception to commemorate the Association of South East Asian Nation’s (ASEAN) 50th Anniversary.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Taree Christian Community School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Saturday 05 August 2017, at Palazzo Versace, Main Beach, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest speaker, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Australian American Leadership Dialogue gala dinner.

On Friday 28 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from St Dominic’s Priory College, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Thursday 27 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Mr Pawel Milewski.

On Wednesday 26 July 2017, at Sunbury College, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Acting Principal, Ms Cecilia Hoey, viewed the facilities and met with staff and students.

Afterwards, at the Sunbury Library, the Governor-General, as guest of Hume City Council Mayor, Councillor Drew Jessop; and Director Community Services, Ms Margarita Caddick, received a briefing on plans for the new Hume Global Learning Centre, viewed the facilities and met with staff and volunteers.

On Tuesday 25 July 2017, at Government House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as the Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an Investiture Ceremony at which the Governor-General invested the Honourable Julia Gillard AC with the Insignia of the Companion of the Order of Australia.
