On Sunday 15 April 2018, at Broadwater Parklands, Southport, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chef de Mission, Australian Commonwealth Games Team, Mr Steve Moneghetti AM, attended the women’s and men’s marathon where they congratulated Mr Kurt Fearnly after he won gold. Their Excellencies watched Ms Lisa Weightman and Ms Jessica Trengove win silver and bronze respectively, and Mr Michael Shelley win gold.

On Saturday 14 April 2018, at Robina Stadium, His Excellency General The Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of CEO, Rugby Australia, Ms Raelene Castle ONZM, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games men’s pool B rugby sevens match between Australia and Samoa.

Afterwards, at Currumbin Beachfront, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Vice President, Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Mike Victor OAM, attended the final of the women’s road cycling and watched Ms Chloe Hosking win gold.

On Friday 13 April 2018, at Optus Aquatic Centre, Southport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove as guests of President, Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Sam Coffa AM, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games women's 1m springboard diving preliminary final and men's synchronised 10m platform diving final. Afterwards, Lady Cosgrove participated in the men's synchronised 10m platform diving final victory ceremony.

On Thursday 12 April 2018, at Nerang Mountain Bike Trails, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of Mr Mike Victor, Vice President, Commonwealth Games Australia, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games mountain biking finals, at which the Governor-General presented medals at the men’s cross country mountain bike victory ceremony.

On Wednesday 11 April 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with students from Singleton Primary School, NSW, Christ Church Grammar School, WA, Happy Valley Primary School, SA, and Methodist Ladies College, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Tuesday 10 April 2018, at Darwin International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) was represented by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General, for the departure from Australia of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Group Captain Amanda Dines ADC for the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency Baron Divavesi Waqa and Lady Louisa Waqa.

On Monday 9 April 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with students from St Mary’s Primary School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Sunday 8 April 2018, Queen’s Park, Townsville, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mayor, City of Townsville, Councillor Jenny Hill, attended the Townsville 2018 Commonwealth Games Festival performance by the Grigoryan Brothers and Townsville Guitar Orchestra.

On Friday 7 April 2018, at Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of President, Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Sam Coffa, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games 77kg weightlifting men’s final. Their Excellencies watched Mr Francois Etoundi win Bronze.

On Friday 6 April 2018, at Broadbeach Bowls Club, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of President, Lawn Bowls Australia, Mr Darryl Clout, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games Round 3 matches of the Men’s Triples between Australia and Botswana and the Women’s Singles Lawn Bowls between Australia and Zambia. Their Excellencies watched Mr Barrie Lester, Mr Nathan Rice and Mr Aron Sherriff, and Ms Karen Murphy win both matches.
