On Monday 1 August 2016, in Mexico City, Mexico, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a breakfast for Australian and Mexican business representatives.

Afterwards, at Chapultepec Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a ceremony at the Niños Heroés monument, at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.

Later, at the National Palace the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of Mexico, His Excellency President Peña Nieto, attended a ceremonial welcome.

On Monday 1 August 2016, at Government House, Brisbane, the Administrator, His Excellency the Honourable Paul De Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Sunday 31 July 2016, in Texcoco, Mexico, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Deputy Director-General, Research and Partnerships, Dr Marianne Banziger, visited the Australian funded International Centre for Research and Improvement of Wheat and Corn in recognition of its 50th anniversary.

On Saturday 30 July 2016, at Benito Juárez International Airport, Mexico City, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended a welcome ceremony at the commencement of a State Visit to the United Mexican States.

Afterwards, at the Australian Embassy, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received a briefing by the Australian Ambassador to Mexico, His Excellency Mr David Engel and Trade Commissioner, Mr Chris Rodwell.

On Friday 29 July 2016, following the departure of the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), from Australia on a visit to Latin America, the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.

On Friday 29 July 2016, at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with Commander, US Third Fleet, Vice Admiral Nora Tyson (US Navy).

Afterwards, on board HMAS Canberra, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, visited elements of the Australian Amphibious Force involved in Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2016.

Later, at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the Governor-General visited the Australian P3 Orion detachment involved in Ex RIMPAC.

On Thursday 28 July 2016, at Honolulu International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove met with the Commander, US Pacific Command, Admiral Harry Harris (US Navy).

On Thursday 28 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the Oath of Office to the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Personnel, the Honourable Dan Tehan MP.

On Wednesday 27 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, His Excellency Dr Helmut Böck.

Earlier, at Farrer Goodwin Village, Lady Cosgrove met with the U3A Current Affairs Group and delivered an address.

On Tuesday 26 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the High Commissioner for New Zealand, His Excellency Mr Chris Seed.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Ellenbrook and Beechboro Schools, WA as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.
