On Tuesday 3 April 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Australian Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Hungary, Mr Alex Brooking.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian High Commissioner-designate in the Republic of Mauritius, Ms Cathy Johnstone. Later, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General received the Chairman, Official Establishments Trust, Mr Richard Griffin, AM.

On Sunday 25 March 2007, at Scarborough Beach, WA, Their Excellencies attended the 100 Years of Heroes Memorial Service, at which the Governor-General, as Patron of Surf Lifesaving Australia and Patron-in-Chief of the 2007 Year of the Surf Lifesaver, read the First Lesson. Afterwards, Their Excellencies attended the final day of the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, at which the Governor-General delivered an address and presented medals to the Under 15 Ironman and Ironwoman Champions.
