“Volunteering has many rewards, it builds confidence and skills, understanding and compassion,” says Carol James OAM.

“If we all give a little, we can help a lot.” 

Ms James loves her community and the people who have given her support. In return, she says, “I want to give back and help where I can.” 

Of her work across a range of community and fund-raising groups in the Goulburn Mulwaree region, including as a Councillor and Mayor, Scouting, and various youth support group, Ms James simply says, “I like to make a difference, to complete a project or make people happy and smile.” 

“I am so honoured that someone thought me worthy of nomination for an honour such as this.” 

“I want to thank my community, the clubs and organisations who trust my ability. And my staff, family and friends who stand by me and make everything flow.”
