On Friday 16 February 2018, at Garden Island, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Commander Australian Fleet, Read Admiral Jonathan Mead AM RAN, viewed the capabilities and met with the crew of the Guided Missile Destroyer, HMAS Hobart.

On Wednesday 14 February 2018, at Ronald McDonald House, Westmead, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chief Executive Officer, Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia, Ms Barbara Ryan, officially opened the new Ronald McDonald House Westmead, toured the facilities and met with staff and volunteers.

On Wednesday 7 February 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Indonesia.

Afterwards, at St Paul’s Cathedral, Victoria, the Governor-General was represented at the State Funeral for the late Mr Ronald Joseph Walker AC CBE by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Group Captain John Adams ADC.

On Tuesday 6 February 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with the Founder and Chairman of the Pozières French Australian School Project, Mr Will Davies; Project Architect, Mr Peter Mayoh; and Project Manager, Mr Paul White.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from St Kilda Primary School, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Friday 2 February 2018, at Government House, Canberra the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Michał Kołodziejski, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Piotr Buszta (Counsellor), Mr Rafal Jarosz (Counsellor) and Mrs Ewa Zbytek (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Barbara Kołodziejska.
