On Tuesday 14 February 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received video calls from students attending Cobar Public School, NSW; Goondiwindi State School, QLD; and Tiwi Islands Public School, NT, as a part of their civics and citizenship classes.

In the evening, at Manuka Oval, Canberra, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 2017 Lord’s Taverners ACT dinner.

On Thursday 9 February 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, the Governor-General hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Affirmation of Office to the First Assistant Secretary of the Cabinet Division, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Ms Yael Cass.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the Chairman, Mr Colin Galbraith AM, and the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Sally Moyle of CARE Australia.

On Friday 3 February 2017, at 2 RPH radio station, Glebe, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove viewed the facilities and met with staff, following which the Governor-General broadcasted ‘live-to-air’ content and Lady Cosgrove recorded a briefing for Ablequest. The 2RPH radio station has been broadcasting in Sydney since 1983 and transmits 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Listeners include people who are aged, disabled, non-English speaking and also those who are time poor.

On Thursday 2 February 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius, His Excellency Mr Raoul Cavalot.

In the afternoon, at Randwick Ronald McDonald House, Sydney, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove met with staff, patients and their families. Since 1991, Randwick RMH has been a ‘home away from home’ for 32 families or a total of 134 guests nightly.
