On Thursday 20 October 2016, at the Royal Canberra Golf Club, Yarralumla, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Mac Howell, officially opened the new Westbourne Golf Course.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General met with students from St Michael’s Primary School, VIC, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Wednesday 19 October 2016, at Tasmania Zoo, Launceston, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Owner, Mr Richard Warren, viewed the facilities and received a briefing on operations and conservation operations.

Afterwards, at Scotch Oakburn College Junior School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Andy Müller, visited classrooms and met with students, staff and guests.

On Tuesday 18 October 2016, in Shorewell Park community, Burnie, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Deputy Mayor of the Burnie City Council, Cr Alvwyn Boyd, visited Burnie Community House and Housing Choices Tasmania and met with members of the local community.

On Monday 17 October 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Castle Hill Public School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Friday 14 October 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Afterwards, at The Royal Thai Embassy, Yarralumla, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, following the passing of the King of Thailand, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, conveyed the condolences of the people of Australia to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Mr Chirachai Punkrasin, and Mrs Kanyaratana Punkrasin.

On Thursday 13 October 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Australia’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Mr Philip Green OAM, and the Assistant Secretary to South-East Asia Maritime Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr David Dutton.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received the Prime Minister of Singapore, His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, and Mrs Lee Hsien Loong.

On Wednesday 12 October 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received from His Excellency Mr Grigory Logvinov, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Russian Federation. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Victor Chaykin (Counsellor), Ms Natalia Nefedova (Counsellor) and Ms Anna Kovach (Attaché). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Irina Logvinova.

On Tuesday 11 October 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the National Chairman, Mr Jim Hughes AM and the National Deputy Chairman, Mr Steve Callister, of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Later, the Governor-General received the President, Major General Michael Smith AO (Retd), of the United Nations Association of Australia.

In the afternoon, at Phillip, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, attended the launch of the new Hub@L’Arche venue.

On Monday 10 October 2016, at Buchanan Park, Burpengary, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Burpengary Community War Memorial Association, Mr David Bennett OAM, laid a floral tribute at the Burpengary War Memorial.

Afterwards, at Burpengary State School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Brad Fox, met with students from preparatory to year 6, where the Governor-General also addressed the school at an assembly.

On Saturday 8 October 2016, at Emma Miller Place, Brisbane, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr John Scoble, supported Rosies Friends on the Street Youth Outreach Service and met with clients and volunteers.
