On Tuesday 18 August 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Dr Hassan Hanafy Mahmoud El-Laithy.

At Sydney Olympic Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Netball World Cup Final at which the Governor-General presented the Gold Medals and World Cup to the Australian Diamonds.

In Sandakan, Malaysia, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Sandakan Day Memorial Service, at which Their Excellencies laid a wreath and the Governor-General delivered the commemorative address.
