At Zabeel Palace, Dubai, the Governor-General met with Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in recognition of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

Proclamation; Visit to Singapore

On Saturday 1 August 2015, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.

Afterwards, in Singapore, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, His Excellency Mr Philip Green OAM, hosted a dinner for Australian High Commission staff.

On Friday 31 July 2015, at Fleet Base East, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commander Australian Fleet, Rear Admiral Stuart Mayer CSC and Bar RAN, attended the HMAS Tobruk Decommissioning Ceremony and Reception.

In the evening, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Australian World Orchestra, Mr Neil Thompson, viewed a concert performance by the Australian World Orchestra.

On Wednesday 29 July 2015, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the departure from Australia of His Excellency Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Her Excellency Mama Salma Kikwete, by Commander Paul Gall ADC RAN.

On Tuesday 28 July 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Assistant Secretary, Africa Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Matthew Neuhaus.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for His Excellency Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Her Excellency Mama Salma Kikwete.

National Suicide Prevention Conference; Australian Antarctic Division visit

On Monday 27 July 2015, at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Chairman, Mr Murray Bleach, attended the 2015 National Suicide Prevention Conference, at which the Governor-General delivered the Diego De Leo Opening Address.

Then, in Kingston, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Dr Tony Fleming visited the Australian Antarctic Division, at which the Governor-General participated in a video link to Australian personnel based at Casey Station in Antarctica.
