On Wednesday 14 May 2008, at Mt Pleasant, Canberra, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the Coral Artillery Memorial Service, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force, presented the honour title Coral to 102nd Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, and laid a wreath.

On Sunday 11 May 2008, in Sydney, NSW, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Senior Rabbi and Chief Minister, Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence, visited the Great Synagogue.
