On Wednesday 19 September 2018 at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for Early Childhood Australia.

On Tuesday 18 September 2018 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received from His Excellency Mr Paul Gulleik Larsen, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Beate Gabrielsen (First Secretary), and Ms Turid Hvidsten (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Ms Kristina Kraguljac Larsen.

On Monday 17 September 2018 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Honourable Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minister of Australia.

Afterwards, in recognition of Australian Citizenship Day, the Governor-General, as Presiding Officer, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a Citizenship Ceremony and Youth Forum at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Canberra.

On Friday 14 September 2018 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Mr Sam Beever, Australia’s High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Cyprus.

On Thursday 13 September 2018 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Lieutenant General Rick Burr AO DSC MVO, Chief of Army, and Warrant Officer Grant McFarlane OAM, Regimental Sergeant Major – Army.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception in recognition of the 100th meeting of the Australia Heritage Council.

Nowra; Bawley Point; Braidwood; Bungendore, NSW

On Wednesday 12 September 2018, at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, were welcomed by Councillor Amanda Findley, Mayor of Shoalhaven City Council, during a civic reception, where they met with members of the community.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies were welcomed by CAPT Fiona Sneath RAN, CO HMAS Albatross, for a visit to 723 Squadron at HMAS Albatross. The Governor-General viewed facilities and presented commissions to Royal Australian Navy Officers.

Wollongong, NSW; Kiama, NSW

On Tuesday 11 September 2018, at the University of Wollongong, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, met with staff and viewed facilities at the Early Start Centre.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies were welcomed by Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM, Lord Mayor of Wollongong City Council, during a civic reception at the Wollongong Art Gallery, where they met with members of the community.

Canberra, ACT

On Monday 10 September 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Mr Zachary Matthews (Guildford Grammar School, WA) and Ms Phoebe Thomasson (St Brigid’s College, WA), as recipients of the 2018 Hasluck Leadership Award, accompanied by Mrs Anna Wyatt and Ms Lynnie Butler.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Letter of Commission from the High-Commissioner for Mozambique.

Brisbane, QLD

On Saturday 8 September 2018, at Brisbane International Airport, The Governor-General was represented for the arrival of Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Colonel Chris Austin ADC.

On Friday 7 September 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Order of Australia honours and bravery decorations.
