On Thursday 7 June 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for the Australian Winter Paralympic Team in recognition of their achievements from the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympic Games.

Later, the Governor-General received Lieutenant General David Berger, Commander, United States Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, at Government House, Canberra.

On Wednesday 6 June 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received Her Excellency Ms Unni Klovstad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Most Reverend Archbishop Chistopher Prowse, Archbishop of Canberra and Goulburn.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from All Hallow’s School, QLD, and St Ambrose Primary School, VIC, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 4 June 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guest of Mr Alan Joyce AC, CEO and Managing Director, Qantas, attended the 74th International Air Transport Association’s Annual General Meeting, where the Governor-General opened the conference.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended the funeral for Brigadier Jeffrey James (Jim) Shelton DSO MC (Retd), and presented a Unit Citation for Gallantry to Brigadier Shelton’s family.

On Saturday 2 June 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a performance by the Harvard University Krokodiloes at Admiralty House, Sydney. Invited to attend were several of the Governor-General’s patronages, including the Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust; Ronald McDonald House Charities; and Lady Cosgrove’s patronage, Kookaburra Kids.

On Friday 1 June 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) opened the 8th CrossFit Pacific Regionals at Qudos Bank Arena, Homebush, as guest of Mr Tim Chan, International Representative, CrossFit Games.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception at Admiralty House for the Children’s Cancer Institute in support of their Zero Childhood Cancer initiative.

On Thursday 31 May 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Ambassador-Designate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr Ridwaan Jadwat, at Government House, Canberra.

Earlier, the Governor-General participated in a video call with students from St Paul’s Primary School, VIC, as part of their civics and citizenship class.

On Tuesday 29 May 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Sunday 27 May 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Robert de Castella AO MBE, Director, Indigenous Marathon Foundation, met with the 2018 Indigenous Marathon Project Squad and members of the public at Lake Burley Griffin for the Reconciliation Run.

On Saturday 26 May 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, were farewelled from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by His Excellency Mr Craig Chittick, Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and His Excellency Mr Huynh Cach Mang, Vice Chairman, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, at Ho Chi Minh City International Airport.

On Friday 25 May 2018 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended a breakfast briefing with His Excellency Mr Craig Chittick, Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and Ms Karen Lanyon, Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, at the Park Hyatt Saigon, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended a meeting with His Excellency Mr Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, at the People’s Committee Building.
