- Governor-General visits the Children's Medical Research Institute
The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce visited researchers and staff at the Children’s Medical Research Institute in Westmead, Sydney.
Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce were escorted through the Institute’s research facility, which focuses on embryonic development, cancer, nerve cell signalling and gene therapy research.

On Sunday 29 January 2012, at the Mary MacKillop Aged Care Residence, Hawthorn East, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of Chief Executive Officer, Ms Camille Barker, and Sister Mary Muirhead from the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, met with residents and staff.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce met patients and staff at the new Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Ms Bryce viewed the hospital’s new Emergency Department after visiting the Sugar Glider Ward, where she met six-year-old patient Master Tyson Brown.
On Saturday 28 January 2012, at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President of Tennis Australia, Mr Stephen Healy, attended the 2012 Australian Open Women’s Final.
On Thursday 26 January 2012, at Commonwealth Park, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Reviewing Officer, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the 2012 National Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony, at which the Governor-General led the Affirmation.

On Thursday 19 January 2012, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a morning tea in support of women’s cricket for the Southern Stars, White Ferns and in2CRICKET program participants.

On the eve of the Women's T20 International cricket competition, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce met Australian Southern Stars and New Zealand White Ferns team members at Admiralty House, Sydney.
Ms Bryce and the cricketers were also joined by young girls involved in the in2CRICKET development program.
