- Federal Executive Council; Reception for the Council for the Order of Australia; University of Canberra Brumbies 2012 Season Launch

On Wednesday 22 February 2012, at Government House, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council. In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Deputy Mayor of the Temora Shire Council, Councillor Rick Firman, and the founder of TeleMedicine Australia, Dr Ash Collins.

On Tuesday 21 February 2012, at Government House, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received a Research Fellow of Australian and Indigenous Studies, at the School of Journalism of Monash University, Dr Karen Hughes.

- Governor-General joins celebrations for Australian Volunteers International's 60th anniversary

The Governor-General joined former volunteers, Heads of Mission and staff from Australian Volunteers International to celebrate the organisation’s 60th anniversary at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra.

- Launch of NT DonateLife Week 2012; NT Working Women's Centre; Nova Peris Girls' Academy

On Monday 20 February 2012, at the Wesleyan Church, Darwin, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Northern Territory State Medical Director Organ and Tissue Donation, Professor Dianne Stephens OAM, attended a reception at which the Governor-General officially launched Northern Territory DonateLife Week 2012.

- Visit to NT Working Women's Centre, Darwin

During her visit to Darwin, the Governor-General caught up with the activities of the NT Working Women's Centre. As Patron of the Working Women's Centres, Ms Bryce was updated on the program to counter harassment, bullying and other issues affecting women in the workplace.

- Launch of DonateLife Week, Darwin

In Darwin, the Governor-General launched DonateLife Week at the Wesleyan Church in the grounds of the George Brown Botanic Gardens. The Church has special significance for the families who have agreed to donate organs to save others' lives.

The Governor-General visited a new initiative for young women - the Nova Peris Girls' Academy - at St John's College in Darwin.

- Darwin: Launch of "Battling:Territorians and Their Way"

As part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin, the Governor-General launched a new book - "Battling: Territorians and Their Way", by Darwin authors Peter and Sheila Forrest.

Following the Commemorative Service to mark the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin,the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce met veterans, their families and members of the Darwin community for a reception hosted by the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, the Honourable Paul Henderson MLA.

- COMMEMORATION OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BOMBING OF DARWIN

In Darwin, the Governor-General joined around 5,000 people at a Commemorative Service to remember the 243 people who died when the Japanese bombed Darwin on February the 19th, 1942. The Prime Minister, the Hon. Julia Gillard MP, the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon.

- USS Peary Memorial Service, Darwin

As part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce paid tribute to the crew of the USS Peary, which was bombed and sank in Darwin Harbour. Of the 243 people who died on February 19th, 1942, 89 of them were aboard the USS Peary.

On Saturday 18 February 2012, at East Point Reserve, Darwin, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, the Honourable Paul Henderson MLA, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General and Chief Minister officially opened the Defence of Darwin

- Official Opening of Defence of Darwin Experience

As part of her visit to Darwin to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the bombing of the city, the Governor-General officially opened the Defence of Darwin Experience at the Darwin Military Museum Precinct. The new, purpose-built museum, involves the visitor in an interactive journey beginning on February the 19th, 1942.

On Wednesday 15 February 2012, at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Chief Executive Officer of the Organ and Tissue Authority, Ms Yael Cass, launched DonateLife Week 2012 and presented the DonateLife ‘Book of Life’ to the National Library of Australia.

The Governor-General received the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, His Excellency Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, at Government House in Canberra.

The Governor-General launched DonateLife Week 2012 at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra. Ms Bryce was joined by NRL DonateLife champions, Organ and Tissue Authority representatives and members of the Brennan family, who shared their personal story to help raise public awareness about organ and tissue donations.

On Tuesday 14 February 2012, at Albert Park, Melbourne the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the founder of the Lighthouse Foundation, Ms Susan Barton AM, attended the Foundation’s Annual Valentine’s Day Lunch for Women, at which the Governor-General gave an address.
