In the evening, at Clarendon Terrace, East Melbourne, the Governor-General, as Patron, delivered an address at The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation's 30th Anniversary Dinner.

On Wednesday 11 November 2009, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the 2009 Remembrance Day Ceremony, at which the Governor-General and Mr Bryce laid a wreath at the Stone of Remembrance, and laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Later, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a musical evening for the U3A Warrani Chorale.
