On Thursday 24 September 2009 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for participants of the Biennial National Conference of Australian Church Women.

On Wednesday 23 September 2009 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Electoral Commissioner, Mr Edward Killesteyn, officially opened the Australian Electoral Commission Colloquium in recognition of 25 years as an independent commission.

Later, at the AMF Belconnen Bowl, Canberra, the Governor-General officially opened the Australian Tenpin Bowling Seniors Organisation's National Seniors' Challenge.

On Tuesday 22 September 2009 in Newtown, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Director, Professor Philip Barter, officially opened the new Heart Research Institute.

On Monday 21 September 2009, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the inaugural forum for Women in Project Management Career Opportunities.

On Sunday 20 September 2009, at the Presbyterian Church of St Andrew, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a service in recognition of the 75th anniversary of the opening of the church building, at which the Governor-General read the First Lesson.

Later, Mr Bryce, as Patron, hosted a Musical Afternoon for the Klavier Music Association.

On Friday 18 September 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, received the Chief Executive Officer of the Leukaemia Foundation, Mr Peter Johnston.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted a reception for the International Women's Development Agency. Later, at the Brisbane Club, Queensland, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a reception in support of Alzheimer's Australia.

Earlier, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Siren Gjerme Eriksen, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Martine Aamdal (First Secretary) and Ms Mary Andersen (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mr Emil Ragnar Steffensen. Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Patrick Renault, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium.

On Wednesday 16 September 2009 at The Sebel Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses at which the Governor-General, as Patron, delivered the opening address.

In the evening, at the Federal Golf Club, Canberra, Mr Bryce attended the Rotary Club of Woden dinner as guest speaker

On Tuesday 15 September 2009 at the Queensland State Library, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President, Mr Neil Roberts, attended a morning tea for the Queensland Library Foundation.
