On Friday 21 August 2009, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an Investiture Ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, presented the insignia of the late Professor Christopher O'Brien AO as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia to Mrs Gail O'Brien.
