On Saturday 12 September 2009 in Ilfracombe, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Longreach Regional Council's Q150 Project - The Jacksons Collection Display.

Earlier, at St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Adelaide, the Governor-General was represented at the funeral of the late Flying Officer Michael Herbert, by Wing Commander Rick Subotkiewicz ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-camp.
