On Friday 19 June 2009, at the Westin Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of honour of Australia for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, attended a breakfast in recognition of World Refugee Day.

Later, at the District Court of Queensland, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the reconstituted District Court of Queensland, at which the Governor-General launched the history of the District Court of Queensland A Court Apart.

On Thursday 18 June 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Later, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an afternoon tea in recognition of Refugee Week.
