On Tuesday 26 March 2013, at Seymour College, Glen Osmond, South Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Principal, Mrs Anne Johnstone, met with teachers and read to students.

- Governor-General presents Cancer Council Australia Gold Medal

The Governor-General presented Mrs Judith Roberts AO with the Cancer Council Australia Gold Medal during a ceremony in Adelaide. The Medal recognised Mrs Roberts’ decades of service to cancer control, health care and the Cancer Council.

- Federal Executive Council; Swearing-in Ceremony for new Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries

On Monday 25 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council. Afterwards, the Governor-General signed instruments of appointment for Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

On Sunday 24 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO met with members of the public at The Smith Family Government House Open Day.

Over 4000 people enjoyed a beautiful Canberra day exploring the grounds, gardens and rooms of Government House in Yarralumla. During the day, the Governor-General welcomed visitors attending the annual Smith Family Open Day.

On Friday 22 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Dr Hynek Kmonicek. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Minister for Schools, Education, Early Childhood and Youth, the Honourable Peter Garrett AM MP.

- Regional Arts Australia Canberra program launch; Malkara and Cranleigh Schools ‘Hats and High Tea’

On Thursday 21 March 2013, in Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, attended the Regional Arts Australia Canberra program launch. Afterwards, at the National Gallery of Australia, Mr Bryce, as Patron, attended the Malkara and Cranleigh Schools ‘Hats and Gloves High Tea’ event.

The Governor-General met 26 Global Voices youth delegates during an event at Government House, Canberra. The Global Voices program promotes the engagement of young Australians with international diplomacy and policy in Australia and overseas.

Over 120 students attending the 2013 National Schools Constitutional Convention in Canberra met the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce at Government House.

On Tuesday 19 March 2013, at the Belconnen Community Centre, Belconnen, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the President of Belconnen Community Services, Mrs Gillian Boyd, attended the inaugural ‘Your Community Our Community Seniors Expo,’ as part of Seniors Week 2013.

Marking Seniors Week in the ACT, the Governor-General joined Canberra residents at the Belconnen Community Service centre for the inaugural ‘Your Community Our Community Seniors Expo’. Ms Bryce met attendees and saw the showcase of services at the Expo, including stalls hosted by local businesses and community groups.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Ms Bronte Moules.
