- Governor-General hosts Australian Arab Women’s Leaders’ Dialogue delegates

The Governor-General hosted twenty delegates of the inaugural Australian Arab Women’s Leaders’ Dialogue at Government House, Canberra. The women leaders discussed the role of women in building and sustaining democratic practice in the Middle East and Australia.

On Saturday 16 March 2013, at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended a degree conferral ceremony, at which the Governor-General was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate and delivered the occasion

- Governor-General receives Honorary Doctorate of Laws

The Governor-General was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws during a graduation ceremony at the University of Melbourne. Ms Bryce delivered the Occasional Address and encouraged the graduating students to “be bold” and to take up all opportunities presented to them.

On Friday 15 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the Australian (non-resident) High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique, Mr Graeme Wilson.

- Governor-General hosts participants of 2013 National Rally for 1 and 2 Cylinder Cars and Bikes

Over 50 vintage motor vehicles were on show as the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce hosted participants of the 2013 National Rally for 1 and 2 Cylinder Cars and Bikes at Government House, Canberra. The event also recognised the 50th anniversary of the Veteran and Vintage Car Club of the A.C.T. (VVCCA).

- Governor-General marks 25th anniversary of Open Gardens Australia

The Governor-General planted a Stone Pine at the historic Lanyon House in recognition of the Centenary of Canberra and the 25th anniversary of Open Gardens Australia (OGA). The Governor-General was invited to view the 1859 homestead and later met guests and supporters of OGA attending the event.

The Governor-General, as Colonel-in-Chief, presented medals to Defence Force personnel from the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps at Government House, Canberra.

On Tuesday 12 March 2013, at Capital Hill, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the ACT Chief Minister, Ms Katy Gallagher MLA, attended the Foundation Stone Ceremony, at which the Governor-General reviewed the parade and Mr Bryce recited Lady Denman’s words of 1913.
