In Broadmeadows, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Broadmeadows Turkish Islamic Cultural Centre, Mr Ramazan Öztas, visited the Broadmeadows Mosque and met with the Imam, Mr Erkan Aycicek, the Turkish Consul-General, Mr Mehmet Küҫüksakalli and Turkish community leaders.

On Wednesday 25 November 2015, in Broadmeadows, Melbourne, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Broadmeadows Turkish Islamic Cultural Centre, Mr Ramazan Öztas, visited the Broadmeadows Mosque and met with the Imam, Mr Erkan Aycicek, the Turkish Consul-General, Mr Mehmet Küҫüksakalli and Turkish community leaders

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Öztas, visited the Ottoman Village Aged Care facility and met with residents.

On Tuesday 24 November 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Mr Michael Thawley AO.

In the evening, at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr Obaid Al Ketbi, attended the United Arab Emirates National Day reception.

The Royal Australian Regiment Parade

At Lavarack Barracks, Townsville, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Colonel Commandant, The Royal Australian Regiment, Major General Mark Kelly AO DSC (Retd), attended a parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of The Royal Australian Regiment at which the Governor-General presented new Queen’s and Regimental Colours to the 2nd and 3rd Battalions, The Royal Australian Regiment. The Governor-General then presented the Unit Citation Streamer for the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm to the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment.

On Monday 23 November 2015, in Townsville, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Directors, Parkside Group, Mr Robert Tapiolas and Mr Wilfred Tapiolas, opened Cosgrove Estate.

Afterwards, in Aitkenvale, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Director, Mates4Mates, Mr Bill Whitburn OAM, visited the Townsville Family Recovery Centre and met with staff and veterans.
