On Tuesday 16 December 2014, in Martin Place, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, laid a floral tribute in memory of the Martin Place siege victims.

Afterwards, at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a Mass in honour of the victims of the Martin Place siege.

Later, at Admiralty House, the Governor-General received the former Secretary to the Indian Department of External Affairs, Ambassador Vijay Kumar and Dr Vrinda Kumar.

At Admiralty House, Sydney, NSW, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Cerebral Palsy Alliance Reception in honour of outgoing President, Mrs Marelle Thornton AM.

On Monday 15 December 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Commissioner of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption, the Honourable John Heydon AC QC, and was presented the interim report of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption.

Later, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Cerebral Palsy Alliance reception in honour of Mrs Marelle Thornton AM.

On Sunday 14 December 2014, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Baron Divavesi Waqa, by Commander Peter Tedman DSM OAM ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Friday 12 December 2014, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Baron Divavesi Waqa, by Commander Peter Tedman DSM OAM ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

At Government House, Canberra, ACT, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for the President of Ukraine, His Excellency Mr Petro Poroshenko, and Her Excellency Mrs Maryna Poroshenko before meeting with the President and Mrs Poroshenko and hosting a State Dinner in their honour.

At the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), Canberra, ACT, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove attended the ADFA Graduation Parade, at which the Governor-General presented the Commander-in-Chief’s medal.

On Thursday 11 December 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), Canberra, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Australian Defence Force Academy Graduation Parade, at which the Governor-General presented the Commander-in-Chief’s medal.

On Wednesday 10 December, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a farewell lunch for the Director of Corporate Services, Mrs Karen Baker. At Duntroon, Canberra, ACT, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove attended the Royal Military College General Service Officer Graduation Parade, at which the Governor-General presented the Sword of Honour and The Queen’s Medal, and Commission and Graduation Certificates to the graduating class of December 2014.
