On Wednesday 6 June 2012, at the RiAus Science Exchange, Adelaide, the Administrator, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, as guest of The Cook Society Convenor, Mr James Michell AM, attended the ‘Transit of Venus’ lunch and delivered an address.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Administrator and Mrs Liz Scarce hosted a reception for supporters and volunteers of the 2012 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

On Tuesday 5 June 2012, at Government House, Adelaide, the Administrator, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR and Mrs Liz Scarce, hosted a reception for Young Business Leaders of the Royal Society of the Blind and AusAID Australian Leadership Fellows of Flinders University Centre for Development Studies.

Afterwards, at the Adelaide Town Hall, the Administrator, and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Executive Director of the Australian String Quartet, Ms Angelina Zucco, attended the concert, ‘Legacy’.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce joined Governors-General from across the Commonwealth for a reception hosted by Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace in London.

Earlier, Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce joined Her Majesty The Queen and members of the Royal Family for a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

On Monday 4 June 2012, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Administrator, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR and Mrs Liz Scarce, as guests of the Bedford Chairman, Mr Colin Dunsford, attended the graduation ceremony for participants of the Bedford ‘Abilities for All’ program, at which the Administrator presented awards.

In London, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce met Australian surf lifesavers who were involved in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant during a reception hosted by the Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr John Dauth AO LVO, at Stoke Lodge.

The Governor-General also met Australian Defence Force Navy personnel who were aboard a British naval vessel, which accompanied the Royal Barge during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

On Sunday 3 June 2012, aboard the MV Sarpedon, on the River Thames, London, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, represented Australia in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Governor-General, as Australia’s representative at Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, participated in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant aboard the Sarpedon.

Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce watched as Australian surf lifesavers led the flotilla of boats past millions of people lining the river.

On Saturday 2 June 2012, at Ledra Palace, Nicosia, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, met with the Australian Federal Police Contingent attached to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.

Afterwards, at the Cyprus Archaeological Museum, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the Director of Antiquities, Dr Maria Hadjicosti.

Later, at Larnaca Airport, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce were officially farewelled from the Republic of Cyprus by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Dr Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis.
