On Thursday 24 May 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council. Earlier, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Prince and Grand Master of the Order of Malta His Most Eminent Highness Fra Matthew Festing OBE.

On Tuesday 22 May 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Ambassador-designate to Vietnam, Mr Hugh Borrowman. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of Austria, His Excellency Dr Hannes Porias.

During their visit to Timor Leste, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the Alola Foundation, a not-for-profit Foundation set up 11 years ago by Ms Kirsty Sword-Gismao to improve the lives of women and children.
