Earlier, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Prince and Grand Master of the Order of Malta His Most Eminent Highness Fra Matthew Festing OBE.

The Governor-General received the Grand Prior of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem, His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO, at Government House in Canberra.
On Wednesday 23 May 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received from His Excellency Mr Biren Nanda, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Republic of India.
On Tuesday 22 May 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Ambassador-designate to Vietnam, Mr Hugh Borrowman.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of Austria, His Excellency Dr Hannes Porias.

During their visit to Timor Leste, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the Alola Foundation, a not-for-profit Foundation set up 11 years ago by Ms Kirsty Sword-Gismao to improve the lives of women and children.
Following the inauguration of Taur Matan Ruak as the new President of Timor Leste, international leaders gathered at the Presidential Palace for a flag raising ceremony.
During her visit to Timor Leste for the inauguration fo the new President and to mark the 10th anniversary of the country's independence, the Governor-General attended the opening of the Resistance Museum in Dili.
