- Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

On Sunday 3 June 2012, aboard the MV Sarpedon, on the River Thames, London, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, represented Australia in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Governor-General, as Australia’s representative at Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, participated in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant aboard the Sarpedon. Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce watched as Australian surf lifesavers led the flotilla of boats past millions of people lining the river.

On Saturday 2 June 2012, at Ledra Palace, Nicosia, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, met with the Australian Federal Police Contingent attached to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.

The Governor-General was formally welcomed to the Republic of Cyprus with a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

On Thursday 31 May 2012, at Larnaca Airport, Cyprus, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE were officially welcomed to the Republic of Cyprus by the Minister for Education and Culture, Dr George Demosthenous, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Governor-General began the first day of a State Visit to the Republic of Cyprus by officially opening the Australian High Commission Chancery in Nicosia.
