Australian Defence Medal

 

The Australian Defence Medal recognises the service of Australian Defence Force personnel who have rendered efficient service since the end of World War II. 

The Australian Defence Medal was instituted in recognition of Australian Defence Force personnel who have either completed an initial enlistment period or served for a minimum of four years. Qualifying service must have been completed after 3 September 1945.
