State Visit to China, Chongqing Program

On Sunday 29 March 2015, in Chongqing, China, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Vice Mayor of Chongqing, Mr Chen Luping, opened ‘The Chungking Legation: Australia’s diplomatic mission to wartime China’ exhibition at the Old Australian Legation Building and met with the Australian community in Chongqing.

Afterwards, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chongqing, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the Mayor of Chongqing, Mr Huang Qifan.

During a State Visit to the People’s Republic of China, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Vice Mayor of Chongqing, Mr Chen Luping, opened ‘The Chungking Legation: Australia’s diplomatic mission to wartime China’ exhibition at the Old Australian Legation Building and met with the Australian community in Chongqing.

State Visit to China, Sanya Program

On Saturday 28 March 2015, at the Bo’ao International Convention Centre, Hainan, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Secretary General, Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong, attended the Bo’ao Forum for Asia at which the Governor-General delivered an address at the opening plenary session.

State Visit to China, Hainan Program; State Funeral Service for the late Right Honourable Malcolm Fraser AC CH

On Friday 27 March 2015, at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Hainan, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended a welcome ceremony.

Afterwards, in Lao’ao Village, Hainan, the Governor-General, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Political Commissar to the People’s Liberation Army, Major General Liu Xin, visited the Australian Gull Force Memorial, at which the Governor-General laid a wreath, and together with Lady Cosgrove, planted a tree in honour of the Australian members of Gull Force.
