On Tuesday 12 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove hosted an investiture ceremony for Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano AO, Chief of Staff, Japanese Self-Defence Forces, at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Mr Rod Eade, President ACT Veterans Rugby; Mr John Hillier, Vice-President, ACT Veterans Rugby; and Mr Lindsay Callaghan, Secretary, ACT Veterans Rugby.

On Thursday 7 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received letters of credence from His Excellency Mr Makarimi Abissola Adechoubou, Ambassador of the Republic of Benin, at Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General received Mr Adrian Morrison, the High Commissioner-designate to The Kingdom of Tonga, for a pre-posting call.

On Wednesday 6 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Professor Brian Schmidt AC, Vice-Chancellor, Australian National University, attended the official opening of Bruce and Wright Halls, at the Australian National University.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Prior, and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of the Lord-Prior designate of the Order of St John, Professor Mark Compton AM GCStJ, at Government House, Canberra.

On Tuesday 5 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove received Lieutenant General Ash Power AO CSC (Retd), Patron of the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum and President of the Wangaratta RSL, and Mrs Narelle Power.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Department of Defence, at Government House.

On Monday 4 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd),was represented at the State Commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, by Honorary Aide-de-Camp Brigadier Michael Annett CSC ADC, at the Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton.

On Sunday 3 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove presided at a citizenship ceremony to mark the 70th Anniversary of Australian Citizenship, as guests of Senator Jim Molan AO DSC, at Albert Hall.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for Middle Eastern Heads of Mission, at Government House.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a farewell for Her Excellency Mrs Menna Rawlings, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, at Westminster House
