Federal Executive Council; National Police Remembrance Day Memorial Service; National Gallery of Australia Foundation Dinner

On Wednesday 29 September 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, at the National Police Memorial, Kings Park, Canberra, the Governor-General as patron of the memorial, attended the National Police Remembrance Day Memorial Service, at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.

Opening of Parliament; ACT branch of the Order of Australia Association; 2010 Leadership in Government Awards

On Tuesday 28 September 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Ernesto Hernandez De Leon.

Later, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the First Session of the Forty-Third Commonwealth Parliament, at which the Governor-General addressed the parliament.

Afterwards, at the Royal Canberra Golf Club, Yarralumla, Mr Bryce addressed the ACT Branch of the Order of Australia Association.

Visit to RAAF Wagga; 2010 Henty Machinery Field Days; Museum of Riverina and National Art Glass Gallery; Wagga Wagga Civic Reception

On Tuesday 21 September 2010, at RAAF Wagga, NSW, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Commander-in-Chief, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Commanding Officer, Captain Robert Rogers CSM, toured RAAF Wagga and had lunch with airmen and women from Number 1 Recruit Training Unit.

Afterwards, at Henty, NSW, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Doug Meyer OAM, attended the 2010 Henty Machinery Field Days at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Sculpture at Sawmillers; Opera Australia's Rigoletto

On Saturday 18 September 2010, at Sawmillers Reserve, McMahons Point, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General opened the Sculpture at Sawmillers exhibition.

In the evening, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive of Opera Australia, Mr Adrian Collette AM, attended the opening night performance of Opera Australia’s Rigoletto.

Investiture Ceremony

On Thursday 16 September 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Bryce AM AE attended, and the Governor-General conducted, an investiture ceremony.

In the evening, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Mother of the King of the Kingdom of Tonga, Her Majesty Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
