Reception for Victorian based patronages; European Masters exhibition; the Australian Ballet's ???The Edge of Night'

On Saturday 4 September 2010, at Yooralla, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for the Victorian based organisations of which the Governor-General and Mr Bryce are Patrons.

In the afternoon, at the National Gallery of Victoria, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director, Dr Gerard Vaughan, viewed the European Masters exhibition.

Orygen Youth Health Research Centre; Queen Victoria Women's Centre; Dandenong High School; Cara; Design Alliance

On Friday 3 September 2010, at Parkville, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Director, Professor Patrick McGorry AO, visited Orygen Youth Health Research Centre.

Afterwards, at the Queen Victoria Women's Centre, Melbourne, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chair, Ms Catherine Brown, met with representatives of the centre’s support organisations and members of the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre Trust.

Australian and New Zealand Children's Haematology Oncology Group Conference; 'The Governor: Lachlan Macquarie 1810 to 1821' exhibition

On Wednesday 1 September 2010, at the Sheraton on the Park, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the Australian and New Zealand Children's Haematology Oncology Group Conference and delivered the opening address.

Afterwards, at the State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the New South Wales State Librarian and Chief Executive, Ms Regina Sutton, viewed the current exhibition, 'The Governor: Lachlan Macquarie 1810 to 1821'.

Opening at Queenwood School for Girls; Afternoon tea for Families and Friends of the 1st Australian Imperial Force Association

On Tuesday 31 August 2010, at Mosman, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Principal, Mr James Harpur, officially opened the Queenwood School for Girls’ Senior School science and sport complex.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief of the Families and Friends of the 1st Australian Imperial Force Association, received the President, Mr Russell Curley, and Mrs Lorraine Curley; the Vice-President, Mr Jim Munro; and the Secretary, Mrs Chris Munro.

Farewell call from the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba

On Monday 30 August 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Mr Abelardo Curbelo Padron.

Earlier, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand GNZM QSO, by Colonel Michael Annett CSC ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Meeting with the Governor-General of New Zealand; Trans-Tasman netball series

On Sunday 29 August 2010, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand GNZM QSO.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of the President of Netball Australia, Ms Noeleen Dix, attended the Diamonds lunch, followed by the first test in the Trans-Tasman netball series between Australia and New Zealand.

Sandakan Death Marches Memorial unveiling and reception

On Friday 27 August 2010, at Commemorative Park, Lismore, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General unveiled the Sandakan Death Marches Memorial.

Afterwards, at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Lismore, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Mayor of Lismore City Council, Councillor Jenny Dowell, attended a reception for the Sandakan Death Marches Memorial unveiling.
