On Saturday 1 March 2008, at the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre, Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the Gala Variety Concert, at which the Governor-General officially opened the new Performing Arts Centre.

On Friday 29 February 2008, at the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel, Sydney, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Personal Patron-in-Chief of the Kokoda Track Foundation, and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the 2008 Colonel Ralph Honner Oration Dinner.

On Thursday 28 February 2008, at the South East Asia Memorial, Ballarat, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, laid a wreath at the B Company, 8th Battalion the Royal Australian Regiment Memorial Service. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery attended a luncheon for former members of B Company.

On Wednesday 27 February 2008, at the Windsor Hotel, Melbourne, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of honour of the Rotary Club of Melbourne attended a luncheon at which the Governor-General delivered the 2008 Angus Mitchell Oration.

On Tuesday 26 February 2008, at Government House, Canberra, His Excellency the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, received from His Excellency Mr Juraj Chmiel, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Daniela Mustillova (Deputy Head of Mission) and Mr Jiri Janicek (Consul), Embassy of the Czech Republic.

On Monday 25 February 2008, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery received a farewell call by the High Commissioner for the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Mr Eddie Teo, and Mrs Antonia Teo.

On Friday 22 February 2008, at Woolnorth, North West Tasmania, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as guest of the General Manager of Asset Management, Roaring 40's, Mr David Cameron, visited the wind farm and related renewable energy technology sites.

On Thursday 21 February 2008, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, was represented at the departure from Australia of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Honourable Anand Satyanand PCNZM QSO, by Brigadier Steve N. Aird, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a morning tea for members of the Pan Pacific South East Asia Women's Association (ACT).

On Wednesday 20 February 2008, in Mackay, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as guest of the Mayor of Mackay City Council, Councillor Julie Boyd, visited members of the local community affected by the recent floods and thanked emergency services personnel, local volunteers and support groups involved in the relief and recovery efforts.

On Tuesday 19 February 2008, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, farewelled Their Excellencies the Governor-General of New Zealand the Honourable Anand Satyanand, PCNZM QSO and Mrs Susan Satyanand.
